Award-winning skincare expert Abigail James, dubbed the ‘Queen of Skin’ by the global press, has joined ESPA.

James has been appointed as the brand’s new training director, to lead the evolution of its global treatment and education programmes. She will work to deepen therapist expertise, advance protocol development and enhance both spa partner and guest experience.

With more than two decades of clinical and high-performance coaching experience, James is widely recognised for her integrative approach to skin, health and longevity.

Her passion for innovation and education led her to create the holistic therapy Rejuvology, now taught internationally.

"I am thrilled to welcome Abigail to ESPA. With her innovative approach to skincare and dedication to wellness, she will be instrumental in advancing our training programmes and spa experiences. Abigail's commitment to education and excellence will be key in shaping future treatments and protocols."

James’s focus will be to unite holistic healing, clinical insight and a deep respect for the power of human touch with science and results.

“I’m delighted to join ESPA at such a meaningful time for the brand. This role is about honouring the heritage of ESPA while bringing fresh energy, insight and structure to our training and treatment philosophy.”

Speaking exclusively to European Spa, James said: “My focus for the first six months is around truly understanding what I’ve inherited – the people, the culture, and the standards – and supporting ESPA’s global training department in a meaningful way.

“Education has always been at the heart of ESPA; I’m here to honour that heritage while helping shape its next chapter.

“Excellence in training isn’t just about technical skill. We are in the beautiful business of positive human touch and, in a world where wellness and connection are becoming increasingly fragmented, this feels both exciting and important.

“I’m keen to deepen the authenticity of ESPA, strengthening the connection between therapist skill, client experience and training excellence. Clinical and holistic can, and should, sit together seamlessly.”
