Emlyn Brown has announced he is leaving Accor, where he has been vice-president of wellbeing, strategy, design and development for the past seven years.

A key figure in the sector, he is well know for spearheading numerous innovative wellness initiatives across the Accor portfolio.

His career in hospitality spans 30 years and includes global brands Jumeirah, Six Senses, GOCO Hospitality and Resense Spa.

“Throughout my journey at Accor, I’ve been privileged to work with the group and exceptional colleagues to help elevate Accor’s wellness offerings across multiple brands. It is now a vital strategic pillar for the group, woven into the guest experience outside of the walls of the spa and a company imperative.”

Speaking exclusively to European Spa, Brown said: “It’s an exciting time for all of us working in wellness. I am looking forward to my continued journey in this buoyant and dynamic industry.”

While leading Accor’s wellbeing strategy globally, Brown drove the creation of the ROI of Wellness white paper, which tracked how wellness influences buying decisions and is connected to real business value.

He also worked alongside Federico Toresi, Lindsay Madden-Nadeau and the Raffles design team to create the brand’s Harmony guest wellbeing philosophy, and he was heavily involved in the launch of the Raffles London at the OWO.

Together with Anni Hood and Adélie Henry, Brown created Accor’s future of wellness podcast series and whitepaper, Health to Wealth, which explored how wellness can be democratised.

Future projects

Brown has yet to reveal his next move in the global wellness hospitality sector. He is already involved in the social wellness concept 432 alongside Jamie Waring and Jonathan Fisher.

Brown is also advising Gregor Resch, Tracy Lowe and Steve Sandercott on the modern bathing concept Basin Glacial Waters at the Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise in the Canadian Rockies.
