Renowned wellness guru Deepak Chopra has teamed up with Appellation Hotels to create a new American wellness destination.

The Ameyalli Wellbeing Resort in Utah, which is set to open in 2026, will include expansive geothermal wellness, real estate and a culinary retreat concept.

The $180m (£133m/€153m) resort is being billed as a geothermal wellness destination rooted in ancient healing principles. Its design will merge AI-powered health technology with luxury living.

Located in the Wasatch Back region of Utah, accommodation will include an 80-room boutique hotel alongside private villas, cottages and family lodges.

“Ameyalli is a perfect union of site, water and wellbeing. When I first got here, I had this sense of peace and absolute beauty. I’m grateful to be of service and share my legacy teachings with Ameyalli’s residents and guests.”

As one of the most recognisable figures in the wellness world, Chopra, aged 77, continues to push boundaries in integrative health and self-care.

“It is an honour to contribute to Ameyalli’s values, community and commitment to wellbeing,” said Chopra.

“In this mature season of my life, I’m grateful to share my legacy teachings with Ameyalli’s residents and guests. Together, we are building the world’s premier resources to improve health, happiness, and – the true measure of wellbeing – joy for all.”

Wellbeing at Ameyalli

At approximately 4,600sqm, the wellness centre will blend thermal bathing with spiritual programming and integrative wellness.

Spanning over 78 acres, there are 28 mineral-fed historic hot springs on site, estimated to be 5,000 years old. The historic natural geothermal ‘hot pots’ dome will be restored as a historic landmark.

As well as 15 treatment rooms, there will be yoga and movement spaces, hydrotherapy zones and integrative health clinics.

Ayurvedic and mind-body therapies will be curated by Chopra Global. Programming will include meditation, breathwork, energy healing, plant-based nutrition and spiritual inquiry.

The treatment offerings will be guided by Chopra’s Seven Pillars of Wellbeing – emotional regulation, mindfulness, sleep, movement, relationships, laughter and nutrition.

“Our name, Appellation, means ‘to give a name to a place,’ reflecting our commitment to infusing locally rooted experiences into every hotel we operate,” said Charlie Palmer, co-founder and CEO of Appellation.

“Our spa will go far beyond typical expectations; it’s about creating a truly regenerative and spiritual experience.”

Digital Deepak AI

Speaking to Success.com, Chopra shared that Ameyalli will also offer what he calls ‘ambient computing’, with voice-activated controls in the homes sharing wellness data on demand.

“You enter the room and say, ‘I want to know [how] I slept last night.’ You ask and the wall will light up with the answer,” he told Success.com.

He is also introducing Digital Deepak AI, an AI system that can be a personal coach, health coach, mental coach, research assistant and spiritual guide.

“We’ll be incorporating Digital Deepak out there into the technology,” he said. “This AI system will become a personal coach for health, for wellbeing, for emotional resilience and even for spiritual experiences.

“Everyone who comes here will have a companion – me – but it will be my AI twin.”

The site is being developed with the support of real estate developer Charles Heath of G2 Capital Development, with design by AvroKO design studio. Architectural plans come from Overland Partners.

It will also become the North American headquarters of the Chopra Foundation, which is a non-profit entity for research into wellbeing and humanitarianism.

The Foundation is dedicated to improving health and wellbeing, cultivating spiritual knowledge and promoting world peace.

A former physician, Chopra serves as a senior scientist with Gallup Organisation and is an honorary fellow in medicine at the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow.

He has authored more than 90 books spanning meditation, yoga, Ayurvedic medicine, mindfulness and spiritual enlightenment, and has been at the forefront of the meditation revolution for 30 years.
