The 53rd edition of Cosmoprof will now take place in Bologna, Italy, in May 2021, it has been announced.

Offering three core areas that include CosmoPack; Cosmo Perfumery & Cosmetics; and Cosmo Hair, Nail & Beauty Salon, the leading global event for the professional beauty sector had initially been scheduled for March 2021.

Cosmoprof Worldwide Bologna 2019 attracted 3,000 exhibiting companies from 70 countries and more than 260,000 professionals.

Gianpiero Calzolari, president of BolognaFiere Cosmoprof, explained that the dates for next year had to be moved due to the impact of the coronavirus pandemic.

“We are aware that it is impossible to predict how the situation will evolve in the coming months. We will be ready to reassess what to do if the conditions do not allow exhibitors and professionals to have a quality experience, in total serenity and safety.”

Enrico Zannini

General manager, BolognaFiere Cosmoprof

“Given the unpredictable number of Covid-19 infections in recent months, and the consequent restrictive measures adopted not only in Italy, but all over the world, we have deemed it essential to have a new date for the event,” he said.

“Participating in Cosmoprof involves a significant investment by our companies and operators, and we must work to ensure an event in line with the prestige that has accompanied our brand for more than 50 years.”
