Corinthia Rome opening marks the brand’s Italian debut

Corinthia Rome, set within the former headquarters of the Bank of Italy on Piazza del Parlamento, has opened its doors.

Marking Corinthia’s debut in Italy, Corinthia Spa, Rome is located in the former bank’s vault. Spa consultant Paula Perkins supported the initial development stages, handing over the project to Corinthia’s global head of spa, Kerry Turpin, in early 2025.

Featuring three treatment rooms with Lemi treatment beds, the 285sqm spa has two bathing pools by Starpool, drawing on the traditions of Roman bathing.

Additional facilities include a steam room, sauna, ice fountain and two experience showers, also by Starpool. Treatment therapies are offered in collaboration with 111Skin and Seed to Skin Tuscany.

A celebration of wellbeing

“Corinthia Spa, Rome offers Roman-inspired bathing rituals and striking laurel leaf mosaic artistry that pays homage to the city’s heritage,” said Kerry Turpin.

“Supported by our Italian partners Starpool and Lemi, and marking our first partnership with Seed to Skin Tuscany, the spa is enriched with authentic Tuscan touches. We are also delighted to collaborate with 111SKIN, bringing together advanced science and spa expertise.

“Together, these partnerships allow us to offer guests deeply personalised, results-driven treatments inspired by the rich wellness heritage of Italy. This spa is not only a celebration of wellbeing, but a reflection of our commitment to setting new standards in spa excellence.”

Additional suppliers include Dress Best for uniforms, Beltrami for robes and pool towels, and BC Softwear for all treatment linens. Spa software is by Book4Time.

The intimate subterranean space, shaped by water, mineral stone and softened light, offers a quiet counterpoint to the city above.

The treatment menu combines botanical intelligence with clinical innovation in rituals focused on deep regeneration, with signature treatments such as The Chrysalis and Reverse Signature Facial.

The menu has been curated to offer international guests a distinctly Italian approach to wellness, marrying Tuscan botanicals with advanced performance.

About Corinthia Rome

Located in the historic Campo Marzio neighbourhood, Corinthia Rome sits in a building served as a prominent financial institution for much of the 20th century.

Built in 1914 by architect Marcello Piacentini, the 9,700sqm former bank headquarters has undergone a multi-year restoration to become an intimate 21 suite and 39-room hotel over seven floors.

Interiors are by GA Design and offer a balance of restored heritage features with contemporary Italian design.
