CIDESCO publishes sustainability guide for spas and salons

CIDESCO International, the beauty and spa therapy educational organisation, has launched its Guide to Sustainable Salon and Spa – a series of guidelines compiled to encourage more salons and spas to reduce their impact on the environment.

The guide includes the basic principles of sustainability and how to plan for a more sustainable business, looking in depth at energy and water usage, waste management, product and partner choices and education. It also includes advice from members who are undertaking their own sustainability campaigns

“This guide has been compiled to help and encourage more spas and salons to reduce their impact on the environment,” said Karin Lupgens, president of CIDESCO.

“As Sir David Attenborough says: ‘The future of humanity and indeed, all life on earth, now depends on us.’

“Sustainability is no longer a choice, it’s a necessity. Let’s all do our part.”

Each section features suggestions that will help spa and salon owners to run a more environmentally friendly business.
