The Autograph Collection, part of Marriott Bonvoy’s global portfolio, has opened its second hotel, in Brussels.

The sister property to Cardo Rome, the hotel is said to offer ‘a new lifestyle hospitality concept in the heart of Europe.’

Located in Place Rogier, Cardo Brussels has 532 rooms and spans 24 floors of a 30-storey building.

At the top of the hotel, the Contour Spa has five treatment rooms, a sauna and relaxation area. The 70sqm indoor rooftop pool is joined by a rooftop terrace and solarium.

Created by spa consultants Snow Group, there is also a 160sqm Technogym-equipped gym, which offers striking views of the city.

“Each Cardo hotel is distinct, mirroring the aesthetic and cultural essence of its city. Cardo Brussels exemplifies this vision: a distinctive destination where personal wellbeing and corporate culture merge effortlessly – a sophisticated, eclectic combination of the public and private spheres.”

Head of Cardo Hotels

Wellness is a fundamental part of Cardo Brussels and the spa offers opportunity for reflection and connection, meditation, movement and selfcare.

Innovative interior design

London-based architect and designer Saar Safrir created the hotel and the 850sqm Contour Spa.

Upon entering, guests walk past a huge screen that transforms them into cartoon avatars.

“What happens when you mix Tintin, the Smurfs, and Magritte?” asks Saar Zafrir. “We wanted to translate all these essential Belgian art and pop culture elements into a visually attractive, contemporary experience.”

Treatments will use French brand Deep Nature’s products and towels, robes and spa linens are supplied by Nedlin.

The whimsical interior design has bespoke furniture, inspired by comic books and their text balloons, such as umbrella-shaped coffee tables.

The hotel also has the ZEN Suite, with private spa facilities – a sauna and a treatment room.
