“I drew inspiration from my experiences around the world and honed in on the healing powers of water and ancient European curative water therapies.

“Water is the makeup of one’s being, it symbolises calmness and serenity so we are naturally drawn to it – individually, collectively, as well as emotionally, spiritually and physically. On the coast of the Mornington Crescent Peninsula, we’re surrounded by water, even breathing the fresh sea air has its own healing energy.

“With the reputation Aurora has built over the years, this is a natural evolution for the group and its location and offerings will be drawcards for both new guests and loyal customers who are devoted to our results-based direction and holistic approach to wellness,” she continued.

Celebration of water

The spa was designed by award-winning design studio Woods Bagot, which supplied design services across the entire complex. It was inspired by the Mornington Crescent Peninsula and features a warm neutral colour palette, soft oak panelling, brass accents and a sandy terracotta terrazzo flooring.

The Woods Bagot CEO, Nik Karalis, said: “Woods Bagot’s design for the ASBH is a celebration of water and speaks to the natural properties of the Mornington Crescent Peninsula region and its famed hot springs.

“The Mornington Crescent Peninsula has long been a destination for constitutional escape for Australians, a place to switch off. Now Woods Bagot has designed an immersive wellness experience where you can truly embrace that opportunity for renewal.”
