Spa Education Academy has announced a new partnership with EcoChi, to offer a course on the principles of feng shui and its application within spas.

The live, online Feng Shui Masterclass, taking place on October 21, will introduce spa professionals to feng shui, human experience, wellbeing and wellness design.

Internationally recognised feng shui master and wellness design expert, Debra Hope Duneier, who founded EcoChi, will lead the masterclass.

It will guide spa professionals in seeing beyond how a space looks to consider how it feels, functions and influences the people within it.

“Bringing feng shui to spa leadership education is an opportunity to explore how the spaces we create can influence both the guest journey and employee wellbeing, introducing a different perspective to spa professionals.”

Where feng shui meets wellness design

A US-based company, EcoChi brings together feng shui, environmental psychology, sustainability and wellness design to create spaces that support the complete human experience.

Hope Duneier’s approach explores how environments can influence wellbeing, connection and the way people experience space.

The masterclass will cover the foundational principles of feng shui and the Five Elements, as well as energy flow and balance, the guest experience and personal energy.

“This collaboration reflects our commitment to bringing new perspectives and areas of knowledge into professional spa education,” said Kathryn Dowthwaite-Blay, founder of the Spa Education Academy.

“For spa managers, operators and team members, understanding the relationship between people and their environment can add another dimension to the way they approach spa design, the guest journey and employee wellbeing.

“Participants will leave with a new way of seeing and experiencing their spa, together with practical ideas they can begin applying immediately.”
