A new holistic retreat, ROÉE Spa at the Revery, has opened in Crete. A member of Leading Hotels of The World, the Revery is located near Elafonisi Beach, in the south-west of the island.

The property offers 24 safari-inspired tented pavilions and clifftop suites, each designed to immerse guests in the island’s beauty and ancient rhythms.

Offering a slow, soulful escape that is guided by nature, the 300sqm ROÉE Spa takes its name from the Greek word ροή (roí), meaning flow. It reflects the natural movement of energy, breath and time.

Healing through nature

Wellness facilities include four treatment rooms with LEUS spa beds, a sea view sauna by KLAFS and a steam room by Harvia.

There are custom-built hot and cold baths, as well as experience showers with exfoliating salts. For movement, there is also a fully equipped Matrix gym, outdoor yoga decks and dedicated meditation paths.

The ROÉE Spa was created in partnership with consultants Spa Concept Greece.

A quiet sanctuary

ROÉE Spa offers a menu of restorative wellness rituals inspired by Crete’s ancient traditions, which draw on locally sourced ingredients including wild botanicals, oils and sea salt.

Treatments are in partnership with Ariadne Athens and Naxos Apothecary. Uniforms are custom from by Imatia Greece while towels and spa linens are supplied by Kirpoglou.

“ROÉE’s philosophy draws on Cretan rituals, therapeutic traditions and native botanicals, expressed through treatments that combine touch, breath and warmth,” said Yannis Lampidakis, owner of the Revery.

“Our intimate spa is designed as a quiet sanctuary, combining restorative treatments with heat and water therapies. Rather than offering a conventional spa menu, ROÉE creates deeply sensorial journeys designed to restore the body’s natural rhythm and return guests to a quieter state of balance.”

Raw luxury

Introducing a new hospitality concept for the region, the Revery has two distinct accommodation styles.

The Revery Wild are safari-inspired eco‑luxury tented pavilions, positioned close to the shore, with private hydrotherapy pools. The Revery Suites are carved into the cliffs, each featuring a private heated pool.

Designed by local architect Eirini Apostolaki (Archtify), with interiors by Athens-based Sophia Vantaraki (ThingK), the Revery reflects a modern interpretation of Cretan minimalism.

It follows a low‑impact design philosophy, incorporating natural ventilation, solar energy and eco‑conscious materials. Stonework is shaped from rocks sourced directly from the site.

Additional ecological measures include water saving systems, biological wastewater treatment and a low pollution lighting scheme.
