French hotel group the Barrière Collection has opened its first longevity centre at Hotel Barrière Le Royal La Baule in France.

ORA The Longevity Bay is billed as the first French destination where health prevention, scientific innovation and seaside art de vivre meet.

Based on the belief that longevity begins with a deep understanding of one’s own body, each stay will begin with in-depth medical assessment, analysing the body’s balances and imbalances to create an entirely personalised journey and stay.

ORA’s six pillars of longevity

Backed by a collective of doctors, dieticians, sports coaches, physical therapists and osteopaths, the spa’s holistic approach is structured around:

  • Preventive health, featuring assessments and interpretation
  • Energy and vitality, offering marine treatments, massages and energy therapies
  • Nutrition and micronutrition, focused on balanced gastronomy and a ‘healthynomic’ experience, supervised by chefs and dieticians
  • Aesthetics and regeneration, centred around non-invasive face, body and hair protocols
  • Mobility and performance, offering physical activity and therapies, plus sports technologies
  • Mind and cognition, including meditation, sophrology and cognitive stimulation

The centre is offering three longevity stays, adapted to the needs and rhythm of each guest.

The four-night check-up stay is focused on personalised evaluation and guidance, while the seven-night longevity stay is dedicated to the global strengthening of vitality. A shorter two-night follow-up stay allows for the extension of benefits over time.

ORA The Longevity Bay features innovative equipment including Oligoscan and InBody for health assessments and an OxyHealth hyperbaric oxygenation chamber.

Other services on offer include Cryojet’s whole-body cryotherapy and PSIO light and audio relaxation.

Brand partners include Phytomer and Biologique Recherche, selected for its cutting-edge skin biotechnology. There is also a Technogym fitness centre.

"More than a matter of lifespan, longevity is a quality of life. It emerges from physical balance, mental vitality and the attention we devote – through self-awareness – to the passage of time. With ORA, we have chosen to take a bold step: introducing into French hospitality a rigorous and structured approach to longevity, firmly grounded in innovation.”

Longevity across three Barriere Hotels

ORA The Longevity Bay is set within Hotel Barrière Le Royal La Baule but also accessible from L’Hermitage and Le Castel Marie-Louise hotels. The three properties sit alongside each other in the seaside town.

La Baule began as an avant-garde laboratory, where the sea was considered the source of health, in 1896.

It then became the Institut Verneuil, focused on the regenerative virtues of iodised air and marine resources.

Decades later, cardiologist Dr Yves Tréguer launched the first marine spa on the Côte d’Amour alongside Lucien Barrière.
