Luxury Northern Irish spa resort Galgorm has opened its new nature-immersive forest spa garden.

The result of a £3 million investment, which also included a major guest room refurbishment programme, the forest spa garden is an addition to the resort’s world-renowned thermal spa village.

Located across the River Maine – opposite the existing thermal spa village – the retreat is nestled within a woodland area and connected to the main spa by a bespoke bridge.

Facilities include four relaxation cabanas, three private hot tubs by One Pool & Spa, a sauna by Iglucraft and forest walkways. The cabanas include heated water beds by Gharieni.

“These investments allow us to push boundaries in creating exceptional guest experiences. The forest spa garden introduces an entirely new way to relax and reconnect with nature at Galgorm.”

The forest spa garden

The new forest spa garden is specifically aimed at providing an accessible wellness experience for guests staying in Galgorm’s recently opened eco-friendly Forest Dens.

The new spa is a way to ensure Forest Den guests can enjoy spa facilities close to their secluded accommodation. It has also been conceived to expand the resort’s thermal and outdoor wellness offering.

The Forest Dens provide a combination of nature and comfort, with a private garden terrace, outdoor shower, wood-fired bath and private sauna.

“The Forest Spa has truly elevated the guest experience,” says Tara Moore, associate director of spa operations at Galgorm. “By immersing our visitors in a calming, nature‑inspired environment, we’re able to offer a sense of escape that goes far beyond traditional treatments. It allows our guests to slow down, reconnect and leave feeling genuinely restored.”

“Our ongoing investment is driven by a desire to continually evolve what a luxury spa resort experience can be,” said Colin Johnston, managing director, Galgorm Collection.

“From expanding our spa offering with this new Forest Spa Garden to enhancing our accommodation and facilities, we are shaping Galgorm for the future.

“These developments are not only about elevating guest wellbeing but also about contributing meaningfully to the local economy and ensuring Northern Ireland stands confidently among the world’s leading luxury destinations.”

The Galgorm Collection

This latest investment also included the renovation of Galgorm’s six junior suites, adding private hot tubs on the balconies overlooking the River Maine.

It forms part of Galgorm’s broader £40 million expansion strategy to 2027. The flagship property in the Galgorm Collection portfolio has already seen over £60 million invested since 2010.

The group has also acquired Galgorm Castle Estate in Ballymena and Roe Valley Resort in Limavady.

Galgorm Collection also operates the Rabbit Hotel in Templepatrick, developed following a £15 million investment, and the Old Inn in Crawfordsburn, which includes an outdoor spa.
