Accor has announced it will bring its Mövenpick brand to the UK for the first time with the opening of Movenpick Hampshire – Old Thorns.

Scheduled to open in late 2027, the project will see the 300-acre Old Thorns Estate redeveloped into a 194-room resort with a wellness centre and a new spa.

Renovations will focus on improving the guestrooms and expanding the wellness, leisure and F&B offerings.

The countryside resort in Hampshire was acquired by the Dubai-based real estate firm Select Group earlier this year.

Founded in 1948 by Swiss restaurateur Ueli Prager, Swiss hospitality brand Mövenpick has more than 130 hotels around the world.

Its ongoing expansion across Europe has included recent new openings in Poland, Greece and Italy.

Mövenpick was bought by Accor 2018 and is now part of its premium brand portfolio. The new hotel will be managed and operated by Accor under an agreement with Select Group.
