Picciolo Etna Golf Resort and Spa in Sicily, Italy – part of the Curio Collection by Hilton – has reopened its Sorgente Lavica Spa following a complete renovation.

The spa, which has views across the surrounding Etna DOC wine region, has been transformed to include a range of new zones. As well as a wellness circuit featuring a reaction pool and rustic cascade shower, there is a silent area for relaxing.

Thermal facilities include a Turkish bath, Finnish sauna, ice pool and Kneipp path with aromatherapy and chromotherapy.

There is a panoramic outdoor pool, an indoor hydrotherapy pool and a new Technogym-equipped fitness area.

“Our spa is a place where sensoriality takes shape, inspired by the authentic energy of Sicily and the majestic presence of Mount Etna,” said Cinzia Casella, spa manager at Picciolo Etna Golf Resort and Spa.

“The scents of citrus fruits, wine and volcanic soil welcome guests from the very first step, evoking a deep connection with the land. We believe that wellness is a luxury to be lived with respect and awareness.

“Our goal is to guide every guest through a regenerating and intense experience, capable of leaving lasting sensations. Here, time stands still as body, mind and spirit rediscover balance and authentic renewal.”

At the heart of the new facility is the Vinaria Suite, which includes a hot tub. There is a second couple’s suite with a private Turkish bath where tastings of local wines and gourmet foods are offered.

There are six treatment rooms, including three single rooms and one dedicated to pedicures, with Lemi treatment beds.

Products used in treatments are by Alchimista del Vulcano, a Sicilian cosmetic line. Its formulations combine phytocosmetic research with local ingredients such as volcanic sand, pistachio and prickly pear. All products are crafted in a traditional galenic laboratory near Mount Etna.

The 940sqm spa was designed by Studio Bizzarro and Partners, specialists in Architettura del Benessere (architecture dedicated to wellness). The sauna and Turkish bath cabins are supplied by Aquaspecial.

Reopened in May 2025 after a full renovation, Picciolo Etna Golf Resort and Spa has 100 rooms and suites within its historic manor house, many overlooking Mount Etna.

It is part of Curio Collection by Hilton, a global portfolio of 180 hotels in sought-after destinations.
