Global alternative investment manager Cheyne Capital has announced a renewed financial commitment to Champneys resorts.

The investment partnership includes a £32m capex facility, which will be used to refurbish and modernise all of Champneys’ resorts and hotels.

The announcement comes as Champneys marks its 100-year milestone. The business is focussed on evolving its guest experience, expanding sustainably and strengthening its position in the wellness travel sector.

Refurbishment plans will include bedrooms, public spaces, spa and wellness facilities, landscaping and F&B concepts.

Alan Whiteley, CEO of Champneys

“This renewed investment from Cheyne Capital allows us to build on the legacy of Dorothy Purdew OBE in what is an important next chapter for Champneys. With Cheyne’s long-term support, we can protect our historic properties, strengthen our brand, and expand responsibly”

The investment programme will see enhanced sustainability measures introduced across the estate, modernising the brand for the next generation of wellness consumers.

There will be a focus on energy-efficient systems, waste reduction and environmental stewardship.
