Emlyn Brown joins Mandarin Oriental

Mandarin Oriental has revealed that Emlyn Brown will be its new group director of spa, leisure and wellness.

A key figure in the sector, Brown is well know for spearheading numerous innovative wellness initiatives across the Accor portfolio, where he was vice-president of wellbeing, strategy, design and development for seven years.

In an announcement made on LinkedIn, Mandarin Oriental revealed Brown is joining the group as part of its ongoing transformation strategy and to help unfold its full potential.

Brown’s career in hospitality spans 30 years and includes global brands Jumeirah, Six Senses, GOCO Hospitality and Resense Spa.

He has held numerous senior leadership roles across the wellness industry, where he has consistently driven innovation and excellence.

Brown’s experience encompasses wellbeing strategy, design and spa development at a global level, with a focus on enhancing guest experiences and operational performance.

Speaking exclusively to European Spa, Brown said: “It’s an exciting time for all of us working in wellness. I am looking forward to my continued journey in this buoyant and dynamic industry.”

Future projects

Brown is already involved in the social wellness concept 432 alongside Jamie Waring and Jonathan Fisher.

He is also advising Gregor Resch, Tracy Lowe and Steve Sandercott on the modern bathing concept Basin Glacial Waters at the Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise in the Canadian Rockies.
