The Royal Crescent Hotel & Spa in Bath has appointed Hannah Parsons-Shaw as its new spa manager.

She brings more than 20 years’ experience in the wellness industry, including seven years at Soho House members’ club Babington House.

Parsons-Shaw began her wellness career in fitness, working as a personal trainer, before relocating to Tresco, the luxury private island in the Isles of Scilly, in 2007. Here she managed the Tresco Island Spa.

At Babington House, Parsons-Shaw managed the original Cowshed Spa.

Her new role will see her introducing new wellness retreats to the spa at the Royal Crescent, and introducing a new spa partner with a focus on luxury and sustainability.

“My expertise lies in curating luxurious wellbeing experiences for guests. I am thrilled to bring my experience to the Royal Crescent, as we enter a new era of wellbeing at the hotel. My aim is to create experiences incorporating sustainable with luxury products that offer powerful treatments.”

“I will be looking to curate new experiences that go beyond the spa, starting with our first wellness retreat taking place in April,” said Parsons-Shaw.

“A 360-degree wellbeing programme, the retreat will incorporate yoga and Pilates as well as face and body treatments.

“Longer term, I am looking for a new spa partner to provide more powerful, meaningful therapies, with a focus on luxury and sustainability.”

Over the last two years, the Royal Crescent Hotel & Spa has overhauled its F&B offering and embarked on a staged refurbishment of rooms and suites. “Now our attention has turned to our spa and wellbeing offering,” said GM Lorraine Jarvie.

“Bringing Hannah into the fold is an exciting next step on our journey. We’re keen to pull from her experience to build a wellness programme that goes beyond the spa.”

New aesthetic treatments

The spa, which is set within the hotel’s acre of secluded gardens, has also announced the introduction of new aesthetic treatments.

In partnership with Royal Bath Aesthetics, the collection  will include anti-wrinkle injections, dermal fillers, skin boosters and microneedling.

“We’re seeing demand for experiences that go beyond the typical offering. The introduction of aesthetic treatments is just the start of our journey to offer a more expansive package,” said Parsons-Shaw.

“We find that guests who are curious about cosmetic enhancements are reassured by our luxury setting and the expertise of our partners. We’re looking forward to developing the range of treatments and procedures we offer in time.”
