Spa at Bedford Lodge welcomes new spa manager

The Spa at Bedford Lodge Hotel in Newmarket, West Suffolk has appointed Carla Belmonte as its new spa manager.

Her career has spanned spa and wellness roles across the globe and in London.

After running her own business for seven years, Belmonte took a career break to travel. On her return she joined Urban Retreat at the Aveda Institute in High Holborn, London where she worked as a beauty therapist.

Belmonte then worked at the Clarins Skin Spa in Cambridge for seven years, progressing to the role of spa manager.

For the past three years, she has been working as assistant spa manager at the Spa at Bedford Lodge.

Belmonte also has a personal connection to Bedford Lodge Hotel and Spa. It is where she secured her first role after college, working in the original spa facilities.

Beyond the Fringe had two treatment rooms within the hotel’s leisure complex, where Belmonte worked for two years before going on to lease the space.

She co-found Beauty Stakes at the hotel, running the business for five years.

“This is an exciting opportunity for me to enhance the spa experience for our guests and provide the best wellness journey,” adds Belmonte.

“My aim is to grow our local community, offering special evening events during the year to encourage new visitors and continue to cater to our regular guests.

“My role will involve general spa operations, and creating a strong ethos with the team to deliver the best guest experience.”

The Spa at Bedford Lodge

Owned by Review Hotels, Bedford Lodge Hotel and Spa is housed in a Victorian built property, which once formed part of the estate of the sixth Duke of Bedford.

Facilities at the Spa include a hydrotherapy pool with five water experiences, an outdoor rooftop hot tub and a Rasul.

There are 10 treatment rooms and a thermal area with a steam room, sauna and Hammam.
