Sparcstudio, the renowned design studio that works across the hotel, spa, wellness and fitness sectors, has announced its latest partnership project – The Reeds at South Lodge.

A total of eight new lakeside lodges, situated in the grounds of Exclusive Collection’s South Lodge hotel and its award-winning spa, feature six luxury properties in addition to two dedicated spa lodges.

Accessed via a woodland trail, the six lakeside lodges feature two bedrooms, open-plan living space and a range of modern features and views across the lake.

The lodges feature unique areas for relaxation and contemplation. Each has its own steam shower, and outdoor whirlpool bath, and the two spa lodges have infrared saunas.

“We chose to work with Sparcstudio on this project because we absolutely loved the end result of The Spa at South Lodge and wanted the look and feel of ‘The Reeds’ to flow through from the spa.”

Danny Pecorelli

Managing director, Exclusive Collection

The eight eco-lodges are double height with their own cantilevered private decks.

Set in nature and by the wild-swimming lake, the accommodation has been designed with biophilia in mind, drawing on the natural world with spring’s greens and yellows as well as autumn’s red and russet colour palette.

Guests staying in the lodges have access to the property’s award-winning Spa at South Lodge, which was also designed by Sparcstudio.

Wild swimming sessions and walks across the 93-acre estate add to the immersive retreats.

Luxury by design

The lodges have been designed to respect the surrounding environment using innovative, upcycled, locally sourced or naturally derived materials. Water-based low-VOC paints have been used throughout. Rugs by Tessere were created from recycled bottle content.

Making the most of natural light and sustainable materials, the spaces are contemporary yet cosy, offering guests the opportunity to disconnect with the world and reconnect with nature.

The two spa lodges are set back from the lakeside and have been designed to help visitors engage all the five senses and offer a ‘place of paradise’ for couples.

With plenty of space to relax and unwind, each spa lodge has a bespoke infrared halotherapy sauna. There is also an external sun deck with a freestanding copper double-ended whirlpool bath.

‘’The Reeds Lodges provide a private, luxury guest experience and a direct connection with nature. They have been designed as a soothing sanctuary, combining sophisticated elegance with barefoot luxury.”

Creative director, Sparcstudio

Spa-like bathrooms

All of the lodges have bathrooms designed to create a truly spa-like experience. Sparcstudio has provided a soothing ambience with soft, concealed lighting illuminating the subtle grey and amber textures of the tiled wall and floor surfaces.

Striking travertine uplit tiles with ribbed profile form a backdrop to the centerpiece of the bathrooms – the sculptural double-ended grey stone bath.

Guests can relax and soak while reading a book or watching a movie on Aqua-vision screens.

Generous showers have modern Hans Grohe multiple showering experiences and all are finished in brushed bronze, which adds a touch of richness against the fresh green marble end walls.
