New Spa by Clarins opens at Le Mas Candille, near Cannes

La Mas Candille hotel has opened in Mougins in the French Riviera with the Glow House by Clarins Spa.

The iconic Mas Candille hotel caught the attention of entrepreneur Jean-Philippe Cartier, who worked alongside the Courtins-Clarins family to carry out a series of significant renovations.

The redesigned property features 46 rooms and suites, situated in four hectares of lush landscaping.

The contemporary design is the work of French-Mexican interior designer Hugo Toro.

The Glow House by Clarins

The pioneering Spa by Clarins concept is known as the Glow House.

Clarins’s next generation spa concept is billed as ‘even more than a spa’ and described as a destination in the form of a house, inspired by Mediterranean nature.

Prisca Courtin, chairwoman of Clarins’ Supervisory Board, worked alongside Toro to create a concept entirely developed around Clarins’ Glow range.

A primary 450sqm space houses reception, changing rooms, a fitness room and four treatment rooms.

A second eco-friendly building contains a hammam, Kneipp cold pool, sauna and a 25-metre indoor outdoor heated pool.

The large outdoor pool area is flanked by sun loungers, with views of the Grasse valleys.

Clarins treatment menu

For the Glow House, Clarins has curated a treatment menu featuring face and body massage using 100 per cent manual massage protocols developed over more than seven decades.

Suprême Glow is a signature face and body treatment created exclusively for Le Mas Candille.

It combines Mediterranean influences, the aromatherapeutic benefits of plants and Clarins savoir-faire for a unique journey that reconnects guests with nature.

The Glow House combines each of its treatments with powerful infrared LEDs.

To diffuse them across the face, the Glow House has its own mask and a private Glow Capsule, where each guest can comfortably lie down.

“The Glow House is personal; guests come here to recharge. It’s designed to accommodate different rhythms and spaces in both summer and winter, like a real house,” said Hugo Toro.

The Glow garden

The Glow Garden is a Mediterranean garden filled with orange, strawberry, fig and olive trees, thyme, sage, rosemary and lavender.

An introductory journey to the spa, guests follow a path bordered with Mediterranean nature towards the reception area.
