Six Senses announces new opening in Tel Aviv

Housed in five 110-year-old buildings – the remaining heritage of the Ahuzat Bayit settlement – alongside a modern 42-floor tower, Six Senses Tel Aviv is set to open in 2025.

Considered the largest and most important preservation project in Tel Aviv, once complete it will house the ten-floor, 140-room Six Senses hotel, as well as 55 serviced residences.

Building and preservation works on the original five buildings, which date back to 1909, will be overseen by preservation architects Amnon Bar-Or Architects and structural engineer Yaron Gal.

The new Rothschild 10 Tower will meet LEED Platinum sustainability standards.

An urban renewal project

“Architecture is a practical way of telling a story, and this story is an exciting one to tell,” said lead architect Rani Ziss.

“The original elements in the historic structures have been defined to best preserve them, while the compound is viewed as an integral part of the city’s urban renewal project.”

Spa and wellness facilities will span two floors and include a Holistic Anti-Aging Centre overlooking the heritage garden.

A sky pool on the 17th floor will include a cocktail lounge with a panoramic view of the Gush Dan area.

A new kind of wellness community

Six Senses Place will be a new kind of social and wellness community with dedicated space for reflection, growth and reconnection.

Interiors by Orly Shrem will capture the city’s unique character and coast.

Six Senses CEO Neil Jacobs said: “Tel Aviv is one of the most happening cities in the world right now. To understand it you must experience it, from its innovation hub to its creative and arts scene. It’s enormously exciting to lay our foundation stone next to its foundation stone.

Six Senses Israeli portfolio already includes Six Senses Shaharut, a sustainable property in the Negev Desert, which opened in 2021.

The global wellness resort operator announced at the end of last year that it is on track to eliminate virgin plastic materials from its hotel and spa operations.

Six Senses operates 20 hotels and resorts in 17 countries and has signed a further 34 properties into the development pipeline. Part of IHG Hotels & Resorts, the group is set to launch Six Senses Rome in early 2023.
