YTL Hotels’ The Gainsborough Bath Spa is tapping into the demand for private wellness with its Townhouse Experience, offering guests exclusive access to The Cross Bath, an intimate, open-air bath that uses the city’s natural thermal waters.

“When the pandemic hit last year, it became evident that both privacy and optimum health were of more importance than ever,” explains Pei Leeng Yeoh, marketing manager at YTL Hotels. Responding to this demand the team developed a unique private bathing concept, extending this throughout the accommodation with Aromatherapy Associates bath products in the bathrooms.

“Guests of The Townhouse are granted exclusive access to The Cross Bath, a historic open-air , where they can bathe in the city’s famed healing thermal waters in total privacy,” says Leeng Yeoh. “We are proud to have created a uniquely relaxing atmosphere where guests can watch natural thermal waters cascade from the spring and the specially commissioned poolside fountain at The Cross Bath.”

The Cross Bath is an official sacred site where Celts once revered their Goddess Sulis, in whose honour the Romans named the spa town, Aquae Sulis. The natural thermal waters cascade from the spring into this private pool area.

This new package is exclusively available for guests staying at The Townhouse, an elegant Georgian property adjacent to The Gainsborough Bath Spa that combines the space of a private home with the luxury services of the five-star hotel.
