Darko Vasić appointed regional spa director, EMEA, by Karisma Hotels

Karisma Hotels and Resorts has appointed Darko Vasić as its new regional spa director, EMEA.

Vasić has extensive experience in the wellness and hospitality industries, and a proven track record in managing luxury spas.

Originating from Sabac in Serbia, Vasić holds a degree in business administration and management from the University of Miami’s Herbert Business School. He also has a spa management qualification from One Spa World.

He spent nine years managing more than 35 spa professionals at OneSpaWorld, before working in operations and guest services for One&Only Resorts.

Prior to being appointed as regional spa director, EMEA, by Karisma Hotels, Vasić was spa operations manager at Vassa Spa by Karisma.

“My plan is to enhance Karisma’s services to ensure that each spa is synonymous with unparalleled relaxation and rejuvenation,” said Vasić.

“I see a significant opportunity to expand our market presence by developing unique wellness concepts and experiences globally.”

Expansion into Saudi Arabia

Vasić’s appointment underscores Karisma’s commitment to enhancing its luxury wellness offerings across the brand’s diversified portfolio of properties.

Karisma has several projects in the pipeline for eastern Europe and recently forged a significant new partnership with Saudi Arabia’s Tourism Development Fund.

This collaboration marks the brand’s entry into the Saudi Arabian market, with plans to develop luxury resorts throughout the Kingdom.

Developing spa facilities

Vasić will be responsible for overseeing the operation and development of all spa facilities within the region.

Additionally, he will focus on expanding spa operations by integrating new wellness practices and treatments and optimising operational efficiencies.

He was heavily involved in the opening of Vassa Spa by Karisma in the new Bor Hotel by Karisma.

The 1,036sqm Vassa Spa, designed by Belgrade-based architects Paralela Studios, is a state-of-the-art wellness facility that blends traditional therapies with modern relaxation techniques, with skincare regimens by Elemis.

The spa includes five treatment rooms, an indoor pool, hot tub, tepidarium and steam bath as well as Finnish, bio and infrared saunas by Marconnio Wellness & Spa.
