The 62-suite Forestis Hotel, on the slope of the Plose mountain in Italy, has reopened following extensive renovation.

A five-star mountain retreat, Forestis has revealed new spa suites and treatments. Each of the suites has two treatment beds, a large round bathtub, relaxation area, steam bath and shower.

Spa facilities at Forestis include an indoor and outdoor pool filled with pure Plose mountain water, a silent room and a Wyda (yoga) area.

There are four treatment rooms with Gharieni treatment beds and the spa has a Technogym-equipped gym.

Thermal offerings include a brine steam, bio sauna and textile sauna.

“Following our renovation, we have further enhanced the Forestis Spa experience. The new spa suites, along with our expanded spa menu, deepen our commitment to holistic healing,” said spa manager Eleanora Pellizari.

“Our aim is to create a sanctuary where guests can reconnect with nature and themselves, resulting in peace and rejuvenation.”

Celtic-inspired wellness

The 2,000sqm spa’s year-round wellness programme is inspired by Celtic traditions and their natural doctrine.

New treatment additions include a healing wood massage using wooden sticks, and a vital field massage, that strengthens the body’s energy with gentle movements.

Other treatments include combinations of aromatherapy and tree frequencies, energy flow massages and mountain pine body scrubs.

Treatments use own-label Forestis Spa products developed in collaboration with consultant Sandra Agerer, using plant-based ingredients.

Owners Stefan Hinteregger and Teresa Unterthiner follow a Forestis philosophy of reconnecting with body and soul and embracing nature.

All wellness treatments are based around four native trees – mountain pine, spruce, larch and Swiss pine – four healing woods, four healing stones and four healing tree frequencies.

Forestis also offers Wyda – the movement and mindfulness theory of the Celtic Druids. The millennia-old energy exercises take place in the Wyda room.

Sustainability initiatives

Forestis is a CO2-neutral building, which uses 100 per cent renewable energy, produced by its own plant and wood heating system.

The exteriors and interiors are created using local south Tyrolean suppliers and eco-friendly materials.
