Boutique spa opens at Octant Lousã, Portugal

A new boutique spa has opened at the Octant Lousã a luxury hotel in Portugal’s Coimbra region.

Located at the foot of the Serra da Lousã mountain range, the spa is described as the perfect respite for guests hiking, climbing and cycling in the nearby mountains. 

Billed as a ‘tranquil oasis’, the spa offers a holistic wellness experience, with three treatment rooms, a heated indoor pool with hydromassage, a cryotherapy tank and sauna.

Locally-sourced ingredients

Rituals on offer include Sacro Cranial Massage, Lymphatic Drainage Facial Massage and Stone Treatment Massage.

Aiming to highlight locally sourced natural ingredients, the spa offers amenities from D’Natureza, a Portuguese artisanal skincare and aromatherapy brand offering cosmetics made with native plants, medicinal herbs, extra virgin olive oil, fine vegetable oils and essential oils. 

The products, handcrafted using ancient expertise, are eco-friendly and designed to hydrate, nourish, regenerate and protect the skin.

A tranquil oasis

Guests will also be able to enjoy a host of outdoor pursuits in the surrounding Coimbra landscape, boasting rivers, waterfalls and wildlife. 

Octant Lousã is housed inside the former Viscondessa do Espinhal Palace and is classified as a Historical Heritage Building of Public Interest.
